VISUAL work

Ever since I was young I had a passion for drawing and as a child I won several drawing competitions. At the age of four, a photo my drawing got featured in the local magazine of the village I grew up. I went to drawing school for six years at the Academy for Visual Arts in the city of Lier (BE), and at the age of 18 I started to work on commissions.

Drawing remained a contant in my life and as I went on to study dance and choreography in the ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem (NL), the Netherlands, I continued to develop my visual art practice. I worked on commissions and followed a figure drawing course by Joris Thoné at Academie Noord in Brasschaat (BE). Next to that I focussed on the further development of own work.

I have collaborated with artists such as cabaretier Tobias Wenting (NL), choreographer Daniëlle Huyghe (NL), choreographer Daniel Barkan (NL), poet Marcel Vermeulen (BE), composer Jasper Charlet (BE), I SOLISTI Woodwind Ensemble (BE), and music installation artist Toon Quanten (BE), on i.e. album covers, illustrations for music programs, poster images, illustrations for a poetry collection, etc. next to creating my own visual work.

I am currently exploring the possibility of merging my choreographic and visual work in my most recent creation 'MANA' as MakerSpace Artist at I SOLISTI Belgian Woodwind Ensemble in Antwerp (BE). â€‹
